Crochet Motifs – Paisleys

_MG_1384

Paisley Motifs are as decorative today as they were thousands of years ago. The tear shaped design is of Persian origin and often referred to as a “Persian pear.”

As an embellishment for crochet projects, the motif looks best when it’s done in multiple colors. It’s fun to do, usually incorporating a number of stitches, i.e. clusters, fans, picots, trellis, flowers, and shells.

Another option is to use Paisleys in bead work, chokers, necklaces, earrings or as fancy leaves in floral crochet bouquets.
