Recipe – Copper Tarnish Remover

Home Made Copper Tarnish Remover

Materials:

  • Heavily Oxidized (Tarnished) Copper Pots
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1/4 c. white vinegar
  • 1/4 c. lemon juice
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • Mixing bowl
  • Wire whisk
  • Cleaning Sponge
  • Towel and polishing cloth

Technique:
In mixing bowl, add flour, water, lemon juice, vinegar, salt. Whisk to blend. Mixture should resemble pancake batter.  In sink, sponge ample mixture over copper, scrubbing if necessary. Rinse, wash, dry. Buff to shine.

Use:
For periodic polishing use only; abrasive; not recommended for routine maintenance, such as daily (more of an annual, semi-annual  or quarterly clean). This is a natural non-toxic alternative to noxious chemical treatments.

BEST COFFEE POT CLEANER

In coffee pot, add:

1 Scoop OxyClean
Fill Pot with Hot Water

  • Shake to stir.
  • Let sit 5 min., then shake again.
  • Pour out and Rinse with Hot Water.

BEST TILE FLOOR CLEANER

In a Kool-Aid Container, add:

1/2 c. Baking Soda
1/3 c. Lemon Juice Concentrate
7 c. Water
1/4 c. White Vinegar

  • Stir to blend. Transfer to cleaning bottle for storage.
  • Apply liberal amount to tile floor with sponge or mop.
  • Let sit wet for 2 minutes.
  • Mop off.
  • Let dry
  • (Optional) Buff with Dry Mop.
