JOINING:  Join 3 picots horizontal or 3 picots vertical as desired. To join: work one medallion to completion, work next medallion up to picot you wish to join, line up backs facing, ch 1, sc in picot you wish to join to, ch 1 and continue until next picot and finally a third.

BORDER: An optional border may be added to straighten the edges. Join as many motifs as desired, then attach thread to any corner, work ch4 (counts as tr), ch 3 (for corner), tr in same (= 1 v stitch corner). Once the corner is worked, *ch 5, sc in next picot (the first of three total picots along side), ch 3, sc in next picot, now the middle/join: ch 5-tr in next picot (holding st) and tr in next picot (holding st) and tog sts (together), *repeat from here, excepting corners, work v-st corner. Leave as is, or work a 2nd round of sc over the ch to match ch (ex: ch 5 = 5 sc over ch) and sc in each sc.
