Crochet Lacy Texture Square
Chains and clusters are what make this crochet square lacy in appearance while popcorn stitches add a hint of texture.
ch 6, join with sl st to 1st ch to form ring,
Rnd 1: ch 6 (counts as dc+ch3), *dc, ch 3, *repeat 6 times, ending with a dc in ring and dc in 3rd ch of beg dc (=8 sps)
Color change optional, if changing colors draw new color in on last pull through of joining dc, then cut and drop starting color and continue pattern crocheting over the tails of both colors.
Rnd 2: In 1st sp: [ch 4 (counts as tr)-2tr-tog, ch3, 4 tr & popcorn the 4sts, ch 1], In each remaining sp: [3tr-tog, ch3, 4tr & popcorn the 4sts, ch 1], ending with sl st in top of 1st tr-tog (color change, if necessary)
Rnd 3: sl st in 1st ch3 sp, ch4 (counts as tr), 2tr-tog, *ch6, [3tr-tog, ch4, 3tr-tog in next ch3sp], ch6, 3tr-tog in next ch3sp, *repeat around (=12 togs), ending with a sl st in top of beg tr
Rnd 4: ch 1, sc in ch6sp, ch5, sc in same ch6sp, *5dc in ch4sp, ch 3, 5dc in same ch4sp, sc in ch6sp, ch5, sc in same ch6sp, ch5, sc in next ch6sp, ch5, sc in same ch6sp, *repeat around ending with ch5&sl st in beg sc. End. Break thread. Weave in tail.
To join, work up to the center ch of corner and (backs facing) sc in joining square, drop and continue to center ch of next 3 loops, and sc in joining square, finishing with corner for a total of 5 joins per side.
